1The state of Kangju

The state of Kangju lies about two thousand li northwest of Dayuan, and it borders on Suyi and Yilie. Its king dwells in the city of Suxie. Their customs, the look of the people, and their clothing are much the same as in Dayuan. The land is mild and warm, rich in paulownia and willow and grapes; there are many cattle and sheep, and it produces fine horses. In the Taishi years its king Nabi sent an envoy to send up a sealed memorial (封事), and he presented fine horses as well.
