The Graduates of the Byeongsin Year Gave a Feast to Console the Grand Elder, Minister Bak, and I Composed a Song-Lyric (詞) There丙申年。門生及第等設宴。慰宗工朴尙書。予於筵上作詞一首。
五月十七日。丙申年門生及第等大設華筵。慰座主朴尙書致政。以予其年亦預試席。故幷邀參赴。又迎朴樞院，朴學士，朴侍郞同宴。予酒酣。卽席作詞一首奉呈云。
On the seventeenth day of the fifth month, the successful candidates of the Byeongsin year gave a grand and splendid feast to console Minister Bak, the presiding examiner, who had retired from office. Because I too had taken part in the examination hall that year, they called me as well to go along with them.
They also welcomed Privy Councillor Bak, Academician Bak, and Vice Minister Bak, and feasted together. Grown mellow with wine, I composed a song-lyric on the spot and offer it up with respect.

光華慶席。正玉筍參羅迎致嘉客。還有嬌花解語近前堪摘。殷勤好倒千金酒。幸相逢不妨歡劇。兩翁俱老門生獻壽。古今難得。念往日貪遊好樂。恨枯瘦如今何處浮白。多喜開筵別占洞天仙宅。莫敎舞妓停飄袖。顧看看紅日西側。笑哉殘叟。搖肩兼將手雙拍。
A seat of shining celebration — just now talents like jade bamboo shoots (玉筍) stand ranged and usher in the welcome guests. And besides, lovely flowers that understand speech come near in front, fit to be plucked. Quietly it is good to tip up wine worth a thousand in gold, and since by good fortune we have met, there is no harm though the joy be at its height. Two old men have grown old side by side, and the graduates offer up the cups — a thing hard to come by, now as of old. When I think how in days past I craved roaming and loved my pleasures, now I resent being lean and withered; where shall I drain the great cup? I am greatly glad the seat was opened, for it holds a separate world like an immortal's house. Do not let the dancers halt their fluttering sleeves. I look back and look again, and the red sun slants westward. Laughable, this withered old man — shaking his shoulders and beating time with both hands as well.

The house of Bak of the Privy Council (朴樞府) was borrowed. The rare scenery of its flowers and plants was the finest of all.
