Section 32 — Appearing in response is not the real
1Not Grasping at Marks, Unmoved in Suchness
"Subhuti! Suppose someone took the seven treasures enough to fill measureless asamkhya worlds and gave them away. And suppose a good man or a good woman set their mind on bodhi and kept this sutra, taking up and keeping even a four-line verse of it, reading and reciting it, and unfolding it for others. Their merit surpasses the first. And how does one unfold it for others? By not grasping at marks, unmoved in suchness (如如). Why is this?"
Interlinear notes 1
Even appearing in response and setting out a teaching is not the true reality.
2Like a Dream, Like a Bubble
"All dharmas that are made are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, like dew and like lightning. See them in this way."
3All Rejoiced Greatly and Upheld It
When the Buddha had finished speaking this sutra, the elder Subhuti and all the monks and nuns, the laymen and laywomen, and the gods, humans, and asuras of every world heard what the Buddha said, and all rejoiced greatly, believed it, received it, and upheld it in practice.
