Jewang Ungi (Rhymed Chronicle of Emperors and Kings) Upper Book From Pangu to the Jurchen Jin, from Dangun to Goryeo — an epic that weaves the two histories, of China and of the East, into verse. Declaring that there is a world apart in Liaodong, it sets the history of Korea beside that of China, and it is one of the first histories to sing of Dangun as the founding ancestor of every state on the Korean peninsula. The author's own one hundred and ninety-seven interlinear notes are carried with it.

The Liang of Zhu Quanzhong, the Tang of Li Cunxu, the Jin of the Shi house, the Han of the Liu house, and the Zhou of the Guo house held rule.

In the fourth year of Tianyou he received the abdication, took the imperial throne, and changed his name to Huang (晃). His first year was the dingmao year. He set his capital at Luoyang and later moved it to Bianjing. Down to the last ruler there were three rulers in all, seventeen years. The throne passed to the Later Tang.

克用之子, 本姓朱耶. 祖赤心討龍勛有功, 賜姓李. 梁龍德年, 卽皇帝位於幽州, 梁主進刃而死, 以梁末年癸未爲元, 我太祖六年也. 土德, 都洛. 至末帝, 凡四帝, 合十四年. 傳之石晉.

He was the son of Li Keyong, and his original surname was Zhuye (朱耶). His grandfather Chixin had merit in putting down Pang Xun (龐勛) and was granted the surname Li. In the Longde years of Liang he took the imperial throne at Youzhou, and the ruler of Liang took the blade and died. He made the guiwei year, the last year of Liang, his first year, which was the sixth year of our Taejo. His power was earth, and he set his capital at Luoyang. Down to the last ruler there were four emperors in all, fourteen years. The throne passed to the Jin of the Shi house.

名敬塘, 後唐淸泰二年, 管雁門之北, 結契丹, 攻唐. 唐主自焚而死, 卽皇帝位, 國號晉. 以唐末年丙申爲元, 我太祖十九年也. 土德, 都汴. 二主, 合十二年. 傳之劉漢.

His name was Jingtang (敬瑭). In the second year of Qingtai of the Later Tang he governed the land north of Yanmen, made a pact with the Khitan, and attacked Tang. When the ruler of Tang burned himself to death, he took the imperial throne and named his state Jin (晉). He made the bingshen year, the last year of Tang, his first year, which was the nineteenth year of our Taejo. His power was earth, and he set his capital at Bianjing. There were two rulers, twelve years. The throne passed to the Han of the Liu house.

名高, 舊名知遠. 晉開運四年, 契丹虜小帝北遷, 知遠卽皇帝位, 國號漢. 以晉末年丁未爲元, 我定宗三年也. 都汴. 二主, 合四年. 傳之郭周.

His name was Gao (暠), and his former name was Zhiyuan (知遠). In the fourth year of Kaiyun of Jin the Khitan captured the young emperor (少帝) and carried him north, and Zhiyuan took the imperial throne and named his state Han (漢). He made the dingwei year, the last year of Jin, his first year, which was the third year of our Jeongjong. He set his capital at Bianjing. There were two rulers, four years. The throne passed to the Zhou of the Guo house.

名威, 後漢乾祐四年契丹入境, 委威北伐, 而軍變請威卽皇帝位. 元年辛亥, 我光宗三年也. 木德, 都汴. 至末恭帝, 凡二主, 合九年. 傳之趙宋.

His name was Wei (威). In the fourth year of Qianyou of the Later Han the Khitan crossed the border, and Wei was charged with the northern campaign, but the army rose in revolt and asked Wei to take the imperial throne. His first year was the xinhai year, which was the third year of our Gwangjong. His power was wood, and he set his capital at Bianjing. Down to the last ruler, Emperor Gong, there were two rulers in all, nine years. The throne passed to the Song of the Zhao house.
