Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) 古事記 · Ō no Yasumaro · 712 (Japan, 5th year of Wadō) · 1 passages · 110 Chinese characters · reading time 0.4 min

Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) Middle and Lower Books The oldest surviving book in Japan. Three volumes, beginning with the opening of heaven and earth, passing through the age of the gods, and closing with Empress Suiko. One hundred and five songs are written in man'yōgana, so a whole text survives in which the Chinese characters carry sound alone and not meaning. It sets down the same events differently from the Nihon Shoki at many points, and is well worth reading beside it.

1Emperor Senka

Takeohirokunioshitate no Mikoto dwelt in the palace of Ihorino in Hinokuma (檜埛之廬入野宮) and ruled all under heaven.

The Emperor took to wife Tachibana no Nakatsuhime no Mikoto (橘之中比賣命), the daughter of Emperor Ohoke, and the children born were Ishihime no Mikoto (石比賣命), next Oishihime no Mikoto (小石比賣命), next Kura no Wakae no Miko (倉之若江王).

He also took to wife Wakugohime of Kawachi (川内之若子比賣), and the children born were Honoho no Miko (火穂王), next Eha no Miko (惠波王).

The children of this Emperor were five in all. So Honoho no Miko was (the ancestor of the Shihida no Kimi), and Eha no Miko was (the ancestor of the Ina no Kimi and the Tajihi no Kimi).
