King Minjung閔中王
1King Minjung ascends the throne
閔中王,諱解邑朱,大武神王之弟也。大武神王薨,大子太子幼少,不克卽政。於是,國人推戴以立之。冬十一月,大赦。
King Minjung's name was Haeeupju (解邑朱), and he was the younger brother of King Daemusin. When King Daemusin died the crown prince was young and could not take up the government, so the people of the country raised him up and set him on the throne. In winter, the eleventh month, there was a great pardon.
2The second year — the granaries are opened and shared out
二年,春三月,宴群臣。夏五月,國東大水,民饑,發倉賑給。
In the second year, in spring, the third month, a feast was given to the officers. In summer, the fifth month, there was a great flood in the east of the country and the people were hungry, so the granaries were opened and shared out to them.
3The third year — a comet appears in the south
三年,秋七月,王東狩,獲白獐。冬十一月,星孛于南,二十日而滅。十二月,京都無雪。
In the third year, in autumn, the seventh month, the king hunted in the east and took a white roe deer. In winter, the eleventh month, a comet appeared in the south and went out after twenty days. In the twelfth month there was no snow in the capital.
4The fourth year — he speaks of being buried in a stone cave
四年,夏四月,王田於閔中原。秋七月,又田,見石窟,顧謂左右曰:「吾死,必葬於此,不須更作陵墓。」九月,東海人高朱利獻鯨魚目,夜有光。冬十月,蠶支落部大家戴升等一萬餘家,詣樂浪投漢。
In the fourth year, in summer, the fourth month, the king hunted at the Minjungwon plain. In autumn, the seventh month, he hunted again, and he saw a stone cave and looked round at those beside him and said. "When I die, bury me here without fail, and do not build a tomb mound for me."
In the ninth month Go Juri, a man of the Eastern Sea, presented the eye of a whale, and it gave light at night. In winter, the tenth month, Daeseung the daega of the Jamjirak division and more than ten thousand households went over to Nangnang and gave themselves up to Han.

5The fifth year — he is buried in the stone cave
五年,王薨。王后及群臣,重違遺命,乃葬於石窟,號為閔中王。
In the fifth year the king died. The queen and the officers could not well go against his last command, and so they buried him in the stone cave and called him King Minjung (閔中王).
