Samguk Sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) Biographies The oldest surviving history of Korea. It is made up of the annals of Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje, together with the treatises, the tables and the biographies. Kim Busik set his own judgments here and there in passages marked as his comment, so what the compiler doubted and what he rebuked stands there still.

1Choe Eonwi

崔彦撝年十八,入唐遊學,禮部侍郞薛廷珪下及第,四十二還國,爲執事侍郞、瑞書院學士。及太祖開國入朝,仕至翰林院大學士平章事,卒諡文英。

Choe Eonwi went into the Tang to study when he was eighteen, and he passed the examination under Xue Tinggui, the vice minister of rites. At forty two he came home to his country and became vice minister of the Jipsa office and academician of the Seoseowon. When Taejo opened the dynasty he came to court, and he rose in office to grand academician of the Hallimwon and pyeongjangsa, and when he died he was given the posthumous title Munyeong.
