The Country of Samojian颯秣建國
颯秣建國。周千六七百里。東西長南北狹。國大都城周二十餘里。極險固多居人。異方寶貨多聚此國。土地沃壤稼穡備植。林樹蓊欝花菓滋茂。多出善馬。機巧之技特工諸國。氣序和暢風俗猛烈。凡諸胡國此爲其中。進止威儀近遠取則。其王豪勇隣國承命。兵馬強盛多諸赭羯。赭羯之人其性勇烈。視死如歸戰無前敵。
The country of Samojian is one thousand six or seven hundred li around. It is long from east to west and narrow from north to south. The great capital city of the country is more than twenty li around. It is very steep and strong, and many people live there. The treasures and goods of other lands gather in this country in quantity. The soil is rich, and sowing and reaping are fully practiced. The woods and trees are thick, and flowers and fruit abound. Many fine horses come from here. In skilled craft it is the ablest among the many countries. The climate is mild and clear, and the customs are fierce and hard. Among all the Hu countries this one lies at the center. Near and far, they take its bearing in coming and going for their model. Its king is bold and brave, and the neighboring countries obey his command. Its troops and horses are strong and many, and among them are many Zhejie. The Zhejie are brave and keen by nature. They look on death as a going home, and in battle no enemy stands before them.
從此東南至弭秣賀國。
From here go southeast and you come to the country of Mimohe.
