The Country of Huoliximijia貨利習彌伽國
Da Tang Xiyu Ji (Great Tang Records on the Western Regions) Book 1 The record Xuanzang laid before Emperor Taizong of the Tang after seventeen years of walking through the Western Regions and India, a hundred and thirty-eight countries in all. It is the stuff from which Journey to the West was made, but what stands here is not monsters — it is the compass and the climate and the speech and the faith of one country after another. The road runs two hundred years after Faxian and eighty years before Hyecho.
貨利習彌伽國。順縛芻河兩岸。東西二三十里。南北五百餘里。土宜風俗同伐地國。語言少異。從颯秣建國西南行三百餘里至羯霜那國。
The country of Huoliximijia lies along both banks of the Bochu River. It is twenty or thirty li from east to west and more than five hundred li from north to south. What the soil suits and the customs are the same as in the country of Fadi, and the speech differs a little. From the country of Samojian go southwest more than three hundred li and you come to the country of Jieshuangna.
