Requesting to Provide the Army Grain Myself
Your servant has respectfully seen the royal instruction: that since supplying the Ming troops with army grain is urgent, and your servant is ill, Your Majesty would send out Yun Dusu (尹斗壽), the Left State Councillor (左議政), to provide it. But the army grain along the road your servant has had charge of from the first, and for the carrying of it from Guseong and the several places dispatches have all been sent already and an aide has been sent separately to see to it, so there can be no reason that it will not be in time. And though your servant is ill, while he is not yet dead he will run about to the utmost of his strength.
At the place where Your Majesty stays, the pressing matters to be answered are not the one matter of army grain alone, and of the three state councillors there is only the Left State Councillor — how then can he go out? Your servant will today first send Sin Gyeongjin (辛慶晉), and tomorrow at dawn will follow after, ill as he is, and it will not be too late. Therefore, in fear and awe, he ventures to report.
