1The Bailan

The Bailan are a separate branch of the Qiang. Their land touches the Tuyuhun to the northeast, reaches Limotu to the northwest, and borders Na'e to the south. Their customs and products are much the same as those of Dangchang. In the first year of Baoding they sent an envoy and presented armor of rhinoceros hide and armor of iron.

Interlinear notes 1

For "it reaches Limotu to the northwest and borders Na'e to the south," the Tongdian, in the section on Bailan, reads "it reaches Chilimotu to the west and borders Jun'e to the south." The Bei shi, in the account of Bailan, has no character 至, and writes 模 as 摸.
