Jewang Ungi (Rhymed Chronicle of Emperors and Kings) Lower Book From Pangu to the Jurchen Jin, from Dangun to Goryeo — an epic that weaves the two histories, of China and of the East, into verse. Declaring that there is a world apart in Liaodong, it sets the history of Korea beside that of China, and it is one of the first histories to sing of Dangun as the founding ancestor of every state on the Korean peninsula. The author's own one hundred and ninety-seven interlinear notes are carried with it.

1Wiman, a man of Yan

漢將衛滿生自燕, 高帝十二丙午年.

Wiman, a general of Han, was born in Yan. It was the twelfth year of Emperor Gao, the year byeongo.

2He drives out King Jun and takes the state

來攻逐準乃奪國, 至孫右渠盈厥愆.

He came and attacked and drove out King Jun and took the state, and by the time of his grandson Ugeo the fault of it was full.

3Emperor Wu of Han comes to punish them

漢虎元封三癸酉, 命將出師來討焉.

In the third year of Yuanfeng under Emperor Wu of Han, the year gyeyu, he commanded his general to send out troops and come and punish them.

三世幷爲八十八, 背漢逐準殃宜然.

Three generations together were eighty-eight years. They turned their backs on Han and drove out King Jun, and the ruin was fitting.
