King Yangwon陽原王

King Yangwon's name was Pyeongseong (平成), and he was the eldest son of King Anwon. From his birth he was clever and wise, and when he grew up he was bold and open-handed beyond other men. In the third year of King Anwon's reign he was set up as crown prince, and when the fifteenth year came the king died and the crown prince ascended the throne. In winter, the twelfth month, an envoy was sent to enter Eastern Wei and bring tribute.

In the second year, in spring, the second month, the branches of a pear tree in the royal capital grew together into one. In summer, the fourth month, hail fell. In winter, the eleventh month, an envoy was sent to enter Eastern Wei and bring tribute.

In the third year, in autumn, the seventh month, Baegamseong was built up again and Sinseong was repaired. An envoy was sent to enter Eastern Wei and bring tribute.

In the fourth year, in spring, the first month, six thousand soldiers of Ye were used to strike Doksanseong of Baekje, but the Silla general Ju Jin came to the rescue, and so it was not taken and they drew back. In autumn, the ninth month, fine grain was presented from Hwando. An envoy was sent to enter Eastern Wei and bring tribute.

In the fifth year an envoy was sent to enter Eastern Wei and bring tribute.

In the sixth year, in spring, the first month, Baekje came raiding and took Dosalseong. In the third month Geumhyeonseong of Baekje was attacked. The men of Silla seized the moment and took both fortresses.

In summer, the sixth month, an envoy was sent to enter Northern Qi and bring tribute. In autumn, the ninth month, Northern Qi enfeoffed the king as Commissioner Bearing the Tally, Palace Attendant, Great General of Agile Cavalry, Commandant in Charge of the Eastern Yi, Duke of the Commandery of Liaodong, and King of Goguryeo.

In the seventh year, in summer, the fifth month, an envoy was sent to enter Northern Qi and bring tribute.

In autumn, the ninth month, the Tujue came and surrounded Sinseong, but they did not take it and moved on to strike Baegamseong. The king sent the general Goheul, who led ten thousand soldiers, held them off and beat them, killing and taking more than a thousand heads. Silla came attacking and took ten commanderies.

In the eighth year Janganseong was built.

In the tenth year, in winter, Ungcheonseong of Baekje was attacked, but it was not taken. On the last day of the twelfth month the sun was eclipsed. There was no ice.

In the eleventh year, in winter, the tenth month, a tiger came into the royal capital and was caught. In the eleventh month Taebaek was seen by day. An envoy was sent to enter Northern Qi and bring tribute.

In the thirteenth year, in summer, the fourth month, the prince Yangseong was set up as crown prince, and then the king gave a feast for his many officers in the inner hall. In winter, the tenth month, Ganjuri of Hwandoseong turned against the king and was put to the sword.

In the fifteenth year, in spring, the third month, the king died. He was called King Yangwon (陽原王).
