Samguk Sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) Annals of Baekje The oldest surviving history of Korea. It is made up of the annals of Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje, together with the treatises, the tables and the biographies. Kim Busik set his own judgments here and there in passages marked as his comment, so what the compiler doubted and what he rebuked stands there still.

1King Bunseo ascends the throne

汾西王,責稽王長子。幼而聰惠,儀表英挺,王愛之,不離左右,及王薨,繼而卽位。冬十月,大赦。

King Bunseo (汾西王) was the eldest son of King Chaekgye. From his childhood he was bright and wise, and his bearing and his looks were outstanding, so that the king loved him and would not let him leave his side. When the king died, he followed him and ascended the throne. In winter, the tenth month, there was a great pardon.

2The second year — he pays his respects at the shrine of Dongmyeong

二年,春正月,謁東明廟。

In the second year, in spring, the first month, he paid his respects at the shrine of Dongmyeong.

3The fifth year — a comet is seen by day

五年,夏四月,彗星晝見。

In the fifth year, in summer, the fourth month, a comet was seen by day.

4The seventh year — King Bunseo dies

七年,春二月,潛師襲取樂浪西縣。冬十月,王爲樂浪太守所遣刺客賊害,薨。

In the seventh year, in spring, the second month, troops were sent out in secret and fell upon the western county of Nangnang and took it. In winter, the tenth month, the king was harmed by an assassin sent by the governor of Nangnang, and he died.
