King Jeonji (腆支王), whose name is given as Yeong (映) in the Book of Liang, was the eldest son of Asin. In the third year of Asin's reign he was set up as crown prince, and in the sixth year he went out to the country of Wa as a hostage.
In the fourteenth year the king died, and Hunhae, the king's second brother, took up the government in his stead and waited for the crown prince to come back to the country. But Cheomnye, the youngest brother, killed Hunhae and set himself up as king.
Jeonji heard of the death while he was in Wa, and he wept and asked leave to go back, and the king of Wa sent him with a hundred soldiers to guard him. When he came to the border of the country, Haechung, a man of Hanseong, came and told him, "The great king has left the world, and the king's brother Cheomnye has killed his elder brother and made himself king. I beg that the crown prince will not go in lightly."
Jeonji kept the men of Wa by him to guard himself, and he waited on an island in the sea. Then the people of the country killed Cheomnye and welcomed Jeonji, and he ascended the throne. His consort was Lady Palsu, and she bore a son, Guisin.
