Samguk Sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) Annals of Baekje The oldest surviving history of Korea. It is made up of the annals of Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje, together with the treatises, the tables and the biographies. Kim Busik set his own judgments here and there in passages marked as his comment, so what the compiler doubted and what he rebuked stands there still.

1King Hye ascends the throne

惠王,諱季,明王第二子。昌王薨,卽位。

King Hye (惠王), whose name was Gye (季), was the second son of King Myeong. When King Chang died, he ascended the throne.

2The second year — King Hye dies

二年,王薨。諡曰惠。

In the second year the king died. His posthumous title was made Hye (惠).
