1The houses of the jingol
眞骨,室長廣不得過二十四尺,不覆唐瓦,不施飛簷,不雕懸魚,不飾以金銀鍮石五彩,不磨階石,不置三重階,垣墻不施梁棟,不塗石灰,簾綠禁錦罽繡野草羅,屛風禁繡,床不飾玳瑁沉香
For the jingol, the room may not be more than twenty-four feet in length and breadth. Tang tiles may not be laid, the eaves may not be made to fly, hanging-fish ornaments may not be carved, and the house may not be adorned with gold, silver, brass, or the five colors. The stone steps may not be polished, and there may not be triple steps. The enclosing wall may not have crossbeams and ridgepoles and may not be plastered with lime. For the borders of the blinds, brocade, woolen cloth, embroidery, and yachora gauze are forbidden; for the folding screens, embroidery is forbidden; and the couch may not be adorned with tortoiseshell or aloeswood.

六頭品,室長廣不過二十一尺,不覆唐瓦,不施飛簷重袱栱牙懸魚,不飾以金銀鍮石白鑞五彩,不置巾階及二重階,階石不磨,垣墻不過八尺,又不施梁棟,不塗石灰,簾綠禁罽繡綾,屛風禁繡,床不得飾玳瑁紫檀沉香黃楊,又禁錦薦,不置重門及四方門,廐容五馬
For head rank six, the room may not be more than twenty-one feet in length and breadth. Tang tiles may not be laid, and flying eaves, double beams, bracket arms, and hanging-fish ornaments may not be used. It may not be adorned with gold, silver, brass, pewter, or the five colors, there may not be geongye steps or double steps, and the stone steps may not be polished. The enclosing wall may not be more than eight feet, and it may not have crossbeams and ridgepoles or be plastered with lime. For the borders of the blinds, woolen cloth, embroidery, and damask are forbidden; for the folding screens, embroidery is forbidden; the couch may not be adorned with tortoiseshell, red sandalwood, aloeswood, or boxwood, and brocade mats are forbidden as well. There may not be double gates or four-sided gates, and the stable holds five horses.

五頭品,室長廣不過十八尺,不用山楡木,不覆唐瓦,不置獸頭,不施飛簷重袱花斗牙懸魚,不以金銀鍮石銅鑞五彩爲飾,不磨階石,垣墻不過七尺,不架以梁,不塗石灰,簾綠禁錦罽綾絹絁,不作大門四方門,廐容三馬
For head rank five, the room may not be more than eighteen feet in length and breadth. Mountain elm may not be used, Tang tiles may not be laid, beast-head ornaments may not be set up, and flying eaves, double beams, flowered brackets, bracket arms, and hanging-fish ornaments may not be used. It may not be adorned with gold, silver, brass, copper, tin, or the five colors, the stone steps may not be polished, and the enclosing wall may not be more than seven feet and may not be framed with crossbeams or plastered with lime. For the borders of the blinds, brocade, woolen cloth, damask, plain silk, and coarse silk are forbidden. Great gates and four-sided gates may not be built, and the stable holds three horses.

四頭品至百姓,室長廣不過十五尺,不用山楡木,不施藻井,不覆唐瓦,不置獸頭飛簷栱牙懸魚,不以金銀鍮石銅鑞爲飾,階砌不用山石,垣墻不過六尺,又不架梁,不塗石灰,不作大門四方門,廐容二馬
From head rank four down to the common people, the room may not be more than fifteen feet in length and breadth. Mountain elm may not be used, coffered ceilings (藻井) may not be made, Tang tiles may not be laid, and beast-head ornaments, flying eaves, bracket arms, and hanging-fish ornaments may not be set up. It may not be adorned with gold, silver, brass, or copper and tin, mountain stone may not be used for the steps, and the enclosing wall may not be more than six feet and may not be framed with crossbeams or plastered with lime. Great gates and four-sided gates may not be built, and the stable holds two horses.
5The village headmen
外眞村主與五品同,次村主與四品同
Outside the capital, the true village headmen are as head rank five, and the village headmen below them as head rank four.
