Age after age you have been loyal and obedient, crossing the sea to offer your sincerity. The distant king has taken up the rule and has carried on the work of those before him; his longing for righteousness is already manifest, and the heart he holds is red with truth. He floats his raft on the Yeo River (驪水) to present treasures and to bear his gifts of greeting. Therefore he succeeds to the seat and to the charge of a region, to be a bulwark of the eastern lands. Be diligent in what you govern, and do not let the tracks of former days fall away. Now I send the acting usher Lüqiu Enzi and the acting assistant usher Ding Jingzi and others to proclaim my will and comfort you. Answer to my intent." After this he sent envoys every year to present memorials and offer local products. In the seventh year Yeo Bi (King Biyu), King of Baekje, again fulfilled his tribute duties, and Yeong's rank and title were given to him. In the twenty-seventh year Bi sent up a letter and offered local products, and on his own authority made the court envoy Feng Yefu grand administrator of Xihe; and in a memorial he asked for the Yi lin, the Shi zhan and waist-crossbows (腰弩), and Taizu gave him all of them. Bi died, and his son Gyeong (King Gaero) took his place. In the first year of Daming under Shizu he sent an envoy to ask for offices, and a decree granted it. In the second year Gyeong sent an envoy with a memorial: "Age after age my country has received your special favour beyond others, and its good ministers of the civil and the military orders have in every age been granted court rank.

"Yeo Yeong, King of Baekje, was made Commissioner Bearing the Tally, Governor of All Military Affairs of Baekje, General Who Guards the East and King of Baekje" — 'Yeo Yeong' is the same in the Nan shi. The chapter on the frontier defences in the Tongdian writes it Buyeo Jeon (扶餘晪), and the note there gives the sound of 晪 by joining 陀 and 典.
