Yeonorang and Seonyeo
1Carried on a rock across to Japan
In the fourth year after the eighth king, King Adalla (阿達羅王), ascended the throne, a jeongyu year, a husband and wife named Yeonorang (延烏郎) and Seonyeo (細烏女) were living on the shore of the East Sea.
One day Yeono went out to the sea to gather seaweed, when suddenly a rock〔Some say a fish.〕 carried him on its back to Japan. The people of that country saw him and said, "This is no ordinary man," and set him up as king.〔Looking at the Nihon teiki, at no time before or after did a Silla man become king. This was a petty king of a border town, not a true king.〕
Seo thought it strange that her husband did not come back and went to look for him. She saw the shoes her husband had taken off, and she too climbed onto the rock. The rock carried her off as before. The people of that country were startled and puzzled, and reported it to the king. Husband and wife met again, and Seo was made a royal consort (貴妃).

2Silk is obtained and the light of the sun and moon restored
At this time in Silla the sun and moon lost their light. The court astrologer (日官) reported, "The essence of the sun and moon had come down and was dwelling in our country. Now it has gone to Japan, and so this strange thing has happened."
The king sent an envoy to have the two come back. Yeono said, "My coming to this country was the doing of Heaven. How could I go back now? But my queen has woven some fine silk. If you make an offering to Heaven with this, it will do." Then he gave him the silk.
The envoy returned and reported, and they made the offering as he had said. Only then did the sun and moon become as before.
The silk was kept in the royal storehouse as a treasure of the state, and the storehouse was named the Consort's Storehouse (貴妃庫). The place where the offering to Heaven was made was called Yeongil County (迎日縣), and also Dogiya (都祈野).
