1The queen mother shaves her head and passes away
真興王第二十四真興王即位時年十五歳太后攝政.太后乃法興王之女子,立宗葛文王之妃.終時削髮被法衣而逝.
King Jinheung.
When King Jinheung, the twenty-fourth king, ascended the throne, he was fifteen years old, so the queen mother ruled as regent.
The queen mother was the daughter of King Beopheung and the consort of Ipjong Galmunwang.
When she died, she shaved her head, put on the robe of the Dharma, and passed away.
2If Heaven does not yet hate Goguryeo
承聖三年九月百濟兵來侵於珎城,掠取人男女三万九千馬八千匹而去.先是百濟欲與新羅合兵謀伐髙麗,真興曰“國之興亡在天,若天未猒髙麗則我何敢望焉.”乃以此言通高麗,高麗感其言與羅通好.而百濟㤪之故來爾.
In the ninth month of the third year of Chengsheng, a Baekje army invaded Jinseong and carried off thirty-nine thousand men and women and eight thousand horses.
Before this, Baekje had planned to join forces with Silla and attack Goguryeo.
King Jinheung said, "The rise and fall of a state lies with Heaven. If Heaven does not yet hate Goguryeo, how could I dare hope for it?"
Then he passed these words to Goguryeo. Goguryeo was moved by the words and kept friendly relations with Silla.
So Baekje bore a grudge, and that is why it invaded.
