孝成王開元十年壬戌十月,始築關門扵毛火郡.今毛火村屬慶州東南境,乃防日本塞垣也.周迴六千七百九十二歩五尺,役徒三万九千二百六十二人,掌貟元真角干.開元二十一年癸酉,唐人欲征北犾,請兵新羅客使六百四人來还國.
King Hyoseong.
In the tenth month of the tenth year of Kaiyuan, an imsul year, a barrier gate was first built in Mohwa Commandery.
The present Mohwa Village belongs to the southeastern border of Gyeongju, and this was the wall to hold off Japan.
Its circumference was six thousand seven hundred and ninety-two paces and five cheok. The laborers numbered thirty-nine thousand two hundred and sixty-two, and the official in charge was Wonjin, of the rank of gakgan.
In the twenty-first year of Kaiyuan, a gyeyu year, the Tang wished to attack the northern barbarians and asked Silla for troops. Six hundred and four men came as guest envoys and then returned to their country.
