Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms) Marvels, Part Two A collection of tales of the Three Kingdoms period, compiled by Iryeon, a monk of Goryeo. He gathered the stories the official histories had cast aside. It is the oldest book that carries the myth of Dangun.

1Twenty-One Magpie Nests, Then Thirty-Four

孝恭王第五十二孝恭王光化十五年壬申,〔實朱梁乹化二年也.〕奉聖寺外門東西二十一間鵲巢.又神徳王即位四年乙亥,〔右本云, 天祐十二年, 當作貞明元年.〕靈廟寺内行廊鵲巢三十四,烏巢四十.又三月再降霜,六月斬浦水與海水波相闘三日.

King Hyogong.

Under the fifty-second king, King Hyogong, in the fifteenth year of Guanghua, the year imsin,〔In fact it is the second year of Qianhua of the Later Liang.〕 magpies built nests in the twenty-one bays, east and west, of the outer gate of Bongseongsa.

Again, in the fourth year after King Sindeok ascended the throne, the year eulhae,〔Where one book says the twelfth year of Tianyou, it should read the first year of Zhenming.〕 in the covered walkway inside Yeongmyosa there were thirty-four magpie nests and forty crow nests.

Again, in the third month frost fell twice, and in the sixth month the waters of Champo and the waves of the sea fought each other for three days.
