The Country of Andaluofu
The country of Andaluofu is old land of the country of Duhuoluo, and it is more than three thousand li around. The great capital city of the country is fourteen or fifteen li around. There is no great ruler, and the country is subject to the Turks. Hills and mounds run on joined to one another, and the river valleys and fields are narrow. The seasons are cold and harsh, and the wind and thunder are bleak and strong. Planting and harvest are plentiful, and the land suits flowers and fruits. The nature of the people is rough and fierce, and their customs have neither bond nor rule. They do not know sin from blessing, and they do not prize study. They tend only the temples of the gods, and they believe little in the Law of the Buddha. There are three monasteries and several tens of monks, and all of them follow and study the Law of the Mahasamghika school. There is one stupa, and it was built by King Wuyou.
From here to the northwest, entering valleys and crossing ridges and passing several small cities, going more than four hundred li, one reaches the country of Kuoxiduo.
