波斯國，其先有波斯匿王者，子孫以王父字爲氏，因爲國號。國有城，周回三十二里，城高四丈，皆有樓觀，城內屋宇數百千間，城外佛寺二三百所。西去城十五里有土山，山非過高，其勢連接甚遠，中有鷲鳥噉羊，土人極以爲患。國中有優缽曇花，鮮華可愛。出龍駒馬。咸池生珊瑚樹，長一二尺。亦有琥珀、馬腦、真珠、玫㻁等，國內不以爲珍。市買用金銀。婚姻法：下聘訖，女婿將數十人迎婦，婿著金線錦袍、師子錦袴，戴天冠，婦亦如之。婦兄弟便來捉手付度，夫婦之禮，于茲永畢。國東與滑國，西及南俱與婆羅門國，北與汎慄國接。中大通二年，遣使獻佛牙。
As for the kingdom of Bosi (波斯), among its forebears was one called King Bosini, and his descendants took the style name of the king their forefather as their surname, and from this came the name of the kingdom. The kingdom has a walled city that runs thirty-two li around, four zhang high, and all of it has towers and lookouts. Within the wall are hundreds and thousands of rooms, and outside the wall are two or three hundred temples of the Buddha. Fifteen li west of the city is an earthen hill. The hill is not very high, but it runs on joined together and stretches very far. In it are eagles that eat sheep, and the people of that land suffer greatly from them. In the kingdom there is the youbotan flower, bright and lovely. Dragon-colt horses come from there. In Xianchi (咸池) coral trees grow, one or two feet long. There are amber, agate, pearls and meigui stones as well, but they are not held precious in that kingdom. In the markets they use gold and silver. This is their law of marriage. When the bride gifts have been sent, the bridegroom takes several tens of men and goes to fetch the bride. The bridegroom wears a robe of brocade worked with gold thread and trousers of brocade with a lion pattern, and he puts on a heavenly crown (天冠), and the bride is dressed the same. The bride's brothers come at once, take her hand and give her over, and with this the rites of husband and wife are complete once and for all. To the east the kingdom touches the kingdom of Hua, to the west and the south the kingdom of Poluomen, and to the north the kingdom of Fanli. In the second year of Zhongdatong it sent an envoy to offer a tooth of the Buddha (佛牙).
