Text for the burning of incense at the Hall of the Medicine Buddha
In a place where the world is still as glass dwells the Buddha who is the Great Physician (大醫王), and his light, brighter than sun and moon, shines upon all lands.
Since the time of the former kings his honored form has been enshrined at ease and the rite of offerings furnished in full, and so it has long been. Looking up, we lean upon the shade of his compassion, and its benefit is broad. So, following the plan handed down to us, we strictly furnish the marvelous rite: we prepare the fragrant food of faith and burn every kind of famous incense.
Leaning upon this surpassing cause, we would straightway receive your good care. Let blessing shine on and on, luxuriantly lengthening the term of long life; and let this land be at peace, so that the work brought to fullness may be kept for long.
