Samguk Sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) Annals of Silla The oldest surviving history of Korea. It is made up of the annals of Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje, together with the treatises, the tables and the biographies. Kim Busik set his own judgments here and there in passages marked as his comment, so what the compiler doubted and what he rebuked stands there still.

1Jima Isageum ascends the throne

Jima Isageum ascended the throne. He was the eldest son of King Pasa, and his mother was Lady Saseong. His queen was Lady Aerye of the house of Kim, the daughter of Maje (摩帝) Galmunwang.

At the start, when King Pasa hunted at the marsh of Yuchan, the crown prince went with him. After the hunt they passed through Hangi division, and Heoru (許婁), of the rank of ichan, feasted them. When the wine was at its height, the wife of Heoru came out with her young daughter and danced, and the wife of the ichan Maje led her own daughter out as well. The crown prince saw her and was pleased, and Heoru was not glad of it.

The king said to Heoru, "The name of this place is Daepo (大庖). Here you have set out rich food and fine wine and given us this feast. Your rank should be juda (酒多), placed above ichan." Then he matched the daughter of Maje with the crown prince. Juda was later called gakgan.
