Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms) Marvels, Part One A collection of tales of the Three Kingdoms period, compiled by Iryeon, a monk of Goryeo. He gathered the stories the official histories had cast aside. It is the oldest book that carries the myth of Dangun.

1The four commanderies are merged into two prefectures

The Two Prefectures (府).

The Book of Former Han says: 'In the fifth year of Shiyuan under Emperor Zhao, a gihae year, two outer prefectures (外府) were set up.'

This means that Pyeongna and Xuantu Commandery and the rest of the old land of Joseon were made the Pingzhou Protectorate, and in the land of the two commanderies of Lintun and Lelang the Eastern Division Commandant's Prefecture was set up.

〔In my view, the Account of Joseon has four, Zhenfan, Xuantu, Lintun, and Lelang, but here there is Pyeongna and no Zhenfan. It seems that these are two names for one land.〕
